About Me
Behind YogaSanaNYC, there's me, Sabine Mouyal
I'm a French, passionate yogini who teaches Yoga in the Financial District in Manhattan, New-York.
After 15 years in the corporate world in Paris and Asia, I discovered Yoga in Singapore. As it helped me survive the stress of the hectic corporate life, I slowly got hooked to the feeling of peace and lightness that I experienced after each session, and decided to study the scientific reasons behind these feelings.
With the support and teaching of wonderful Indian yoga masters and human beings, I discovered how yoga is much more than a workout. It’s working deeply on the inner machinery of our body and provides fantastic physical and mental benefits to everyone.
I’ve been a certified Yoga Teacher from Yoga Kalari in Singapore and the Yoga Institute of Kaivalyadhama in India in 2014. Since then, I have been teaching to adults and children, professionals, athletes, busy moms and mom-to-be, the elderly, and any kind of people who need to reconnect body and mind.
If you’d like to try, since early 2020, I'm also teaching live and interactive classes on Zoom...see you soon!
My Style
I teach a traditional yoga that I learned in Asia which is a mix of what we call Hatha and Vinyasa.
I believe in living a life filled with fun, gratitude, and free of judgement. These feelings are incorporated in my teaching practice, which is focused on helping my students improve their understanding of why and how we do each pose or exercise.
Once we clearly understand what we are supposed to feel and achieve, we are more mindful about how we experience yoga.
I have a special heart for beginners for who I feel a true responsibility to bring solid foundations and share the passion.
And I must confess a very special French sense of humour that brings some lightness, fun and sometimes laughter into the classes too.
Classes
Group Classes
The group classes remain small - under 10 students - so I can give personal attention to each student and help them to progress faster. With a regular attendance to group classes, I see students creating a sense of community and supporting each other in this journey towards Yoga. We create a stimulating and trustworthy environment for everyone to nurture their own practice.
The group class is designed to develop not only flexibility and balance but also core strength to tone-up the body from head to toes. A mindful sequence leads to a deep relaxation at the end of the class, helping the body to recover, digest the practice, and resurrect the energy that was spent during the class. Students leave with a feeling of lightness and freshness.

Private Session
A private session is tailored to meet the needs of each student. It will enable you to personalize your practice and will fit to your personal needs and schedule.
While a beginner can build strong foundations and understanding, an advanced student can receive personalized guidance to master challenging postures.
Athletes can learn how to prevent injury and improve their performance, while busy professionals can learn how to channel their energy and tune down their stress on the long run.
These are a few examples of needs that are supported in private sessions.

Kids Yoga
Yoga is a wonderful practice for children to develop body awareness, build a positive self-image, manage stress and increase concentration.
Kids will learn multiple poses, begin to focus on alignment, and build strength and coordination as they practice from week to week. They get engaged into the practice through games and stories.
To keep their interest and focus, we have to make things fun and sometimes quite silly to make them laugh 😊
We will also learn breathing and visualization techniques to teach focus, relaxation and self-control.
